About the role

Our client, a growing West African construction and real estate group, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager to take full commercial and delivery ownership of its live fit-out project portfolio in Accra — covering tender pricing, post-award cost control, procurement, programme management, site supervision, and commercial reporting. Candidates should have 7+ years' experience (including 3+ at senior QS/PM level), a track record delivering projects worth $500,000 or more, a relevant degree (Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related), GhIS membership or eligibility, strong command of SMM/NRM standards and FIDIC/PPA contracts, and proficiency in Excel and MS Project or Primavera P6.

What you will do

  • Pre-Contract Cost Management & Tendering
  • Prepare take-offs and bills of quantities; build rates from first principles
  • Maintain a version-controlled rate library and material price database
  • Source and adjudicate subcontractor/supplier quotations
  • Set tender pricing strategy and compile complete tender submissions
  • Prepare tender adjudication memos for sign-off
  • Post-Contract Cost Control
  • Convert awarded tenders into operating budgets within 10 working days
  • Run monthly cost-value reconciliations
  • Price and agree variations before work is executed
  • Prepare interim valuations and pursue payment
  • Administer subcontractor accounts and final accounts (within 60 days of completion)
  • Serve and defend contractual notices (early warning, EOT, loss & expense)
  • Project Management & Programme Control
  • Produce and track resourced baseline programmes (MS Project / Primavera P6)
  • Chair weekly site meetings; act as primary technical/commercial interface with clients and consultants
  • Manage snagging, handover, and defects liability close-out
  • Site Supervision & Personnel Management
  • Supervise site engineers, foremen, and subcontractor supervisors
  • Enforce health & safety and quality standards
  • Manage attendance, conduct, and mentor junior staff
  • Procurement & Supply Chain
  • Prepare procurement plans per project, sequenced against the programme
  • Manage vendor prequalification, purchase orders, and import logistics
  • Maintain a competitive multi-vendor base
  • Reporting & Governance
  • Issue weekly project reports and monthly commercial reports
  • Maintain a live risk register and escalate material issues within 24 hours
  • Keep audit-standard project records

What we are looking for

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying, Building Technology, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering
  • 7+ years post-qualification experience, including 3+ years at senior QS/PM level
  • Delivered at least 3 projects of $500,000+ with personal commercial accountability
  • GhIS corporate membership (or eligible within 12 months)
  • Strong command of SMM/NRM measurement standards and FIDIC/PPA contract forms
  • Advanced Excel; working competence in MS Project or Primavera P6
  • Valid Ghanaian driving licence; willing to be on site daily
